JV Manager Review

Are You Looking For the Best Membership Site Software?

For the past several years, I've been running membership sites and have tested well over a dozen membership scripts and Wordpress plugins.

I've put together a short comparison of the membership site software that I currently use in my business that I highly recommend.

Do Not Buy JV Manager Until You Read This Review

While JV Manager is a popular software for building membership sites, you should know the whole scoop about it before you make an investment.

Have you ever “recreated the wheel”? That’s what I ended up doing…not intentionally though. I had a great concept of what a membership site software should have. So I ended up spending many months designing my own. While doing so, I realized that their was another solution out there that was able to do a lot of things that my software did and a lot more.

What I’m talking about is JV Manager. I’ve heard about it before, but I didn’t buy it when it first came out. First of all, most scripts that are new have a bunch of bugs (ie. Even though MS Windows has been around for a while now…every new version has a bunch of issues). Another reason I didn’t buy it was because it was selling for close to 400 bucks at the time.

Well after I found out that John Delavera (the creator) changed his offer, I was ready to go for it (at $97). That was a huge discount…so I gave it a test drive.

Here are a few things that I’d like to point out:

1) It has a built in affiliate tracking script
2) It allows you to view all of your sales within 1 panel
3) It allows you to easily create coupons
4) It has the ability to track subscriptions for many payment processors
5) It allows you to easily add new products and membership sites

Affiliate Tracking with JV Manager

I’ve tested out several major affiliate scripts and networks and I’m pleased with JV Manager. While it’s not the best, it has most of the major functions that affiliates like to see. For example, affiliates can log into their account and view their stats. Affiliates can also create their own campaigns and track which is producing the best results. This is a great function. You can even use campaigns to track which keywords are converting within Pay-per-click ads.

Centralized Management

Whether you are selling single-pay products or subscriptions, JV Manager offers a centralized system to help you monitor your sales. So if you decide to launch new sites on different domains, you can use a central system to keep track of everything. This is a big time saver for the merchant as well as for affiliates.

Using Coupons

Using coupons will allow you to bring in customers…especially the ones looking out for discounts. I really like the way JV Manager handles coupons. You can have time limits, usage limits, and even product limits. You can create your own codes. While that may not seem like a big deal, some other software’s don’t allow you to create your own…customers are stuck with a cryptic code that isn’t so easy to remember.

Tracking a Bunch of Payment Processors

If you’ve ever run an ecommerce site that takes multiple payments, you’ll realize that it kinda sucks logging into each site to see your stats. The good thing about JV Manager is that it can work with most of the major payment processors. This list includes Authorize.net (SIM), 2Checkout, Paypal, Clickbank, Moneybookers, and Linkpoint. For subscriptions, 2Checkout and Paypal work great out of the box. What I like about JV Manager is that it has a way track subscriptions without using IPN or a payment notifier. This is great especially for systems that have difficult or time consuming methods of getting notified (where the processor communicates with your site to tell it that a payment was processed). It will insure that affiliates get paid recurring payments as well.

Adding New Products is Easy

Some people may disagree with me here. One of the complaints about JV Manager is that adding products isn’t easy because of something called packages. Well, it was a strange concept the first time I learned about it. Just like anything else, things aren’t easy if there is a learning curve. After fully reading the manual, I got the idea and was able to add and modify products very easily.
